CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Trevino called the meeting of January 24, 2017 to order at 7:00 p.m.

MINUTES
It was moved by Councilwoman Villarreal to accept the minutes as written. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Sharp.

NEW BUSINESS
Award bid
It was moved by Councilwoman Gonzalez to award the bid for the City of Granger’s legal newspaper to Daily Sun News from Sunnyside beginning February 1, 2017 to January 15, 2018. Motion seconded by Councilwoman Sharp

Washington Evergreen Rural Conference
It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to approve the expenditure request from Public Works to attend the Washington Rural Water Conference in Yakima in the amount of $675.00.
Motion seconded by Councilwoman Villarreal

It was moved by Councilwoman Gonzalez to pay the bills of January 24, 2017 in the amount of $192,054.12. Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Sharp.

PLANNING COMMISSION
Planning Commission’s chairwoman, Hilda Guzman addressed the Council and informed them that the Planning Commission had finished the update on the City’s Comprehensive Plan and suggested that both the Council and the Commission meet to discuss the plan after the City Council has had time to review. She stressed the importance of everyone being involved with the process and knowing what the plan consists of. Mayor Trevino stated that it was a good idea and after Council reviews, the possibility of having a retreat for Council to ask questions of the Commission on items in the plan. Clerk was directed to get copies of the plan to Council and Department Heads as soon as possible.

It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to adjourn the meeting of January 24, 2017. Motion seconded by Councilman Gonzalez. Meeting adjourned at 7:22 p.m.
